it starting to work!

Hi everybody! Well, I guess I´ll have to translate this blog, because I see my friends from Canada are visiting, and I´m so pleased!! First of all because I just love Hilda, she is not just a friend, she´s part of the family! And also for her encouragement!

I don´t think she could understand how to post her words because it´s all in portuguese, but look at her testimonial:

Dear Mirella, you are so wonderful and caring! I am very impressed with what you are trying to do for the homeless animals in Sao Paulo. We all know that this is an ongoing struggle, but just think of the difference you have already made to the lives of some of these unfortunate animals. I am pleased that I was able to convey some of the caring I have for the plight of these poor animals. I am honoured to have been mentioned in your informative, passionate and well done blog. The video is difficult to watch without shedding a few tears.

You are on a tremendous mission that I know you will find rewarding, but hopefully not too taxing on your emotion reserves. Coco will remain in our hearts forever! He will never know what a catalyst he was for altering the viewpoint of those whom you come in contact with and those who view your blog.

Mirella, thank you for sharing such a beautiful and sad story. I truly wish you success in this uphill battle.

Beijos!

Love

Hilda

Hello to my friends in Detroit and Canada

One of the first dogs I tryed to get out of the street was "Cocoa"... I met him because of Hilda... my canadian friend who came to Brazil on Carnaval. The first abandoned dog she saw, she made us get food, water and walk up to the forest where he lived... At the time, I couldn´t understand her struggle, because he was only one of hundreds I used to see everyday... While she was staying in my apt., she would feed him every single day... He was starting to answer by the name "cocoa"... It was funny, ´cause in portuguese it doesn´t mean a good word... lol... Anyway, Hilda went back to Canada, and I had a mission... continue to feed Cocoa everyday... So, I used to take Bebel with me (my poodle, the fist dog I had, my angel..) and go up to the forest to find him... After a couple of days, I´d scream "Cocoa, Cocoa!", and no answer.. That´s when the guard sayd that a car hit him and he died... I cried my eyes out... Today I think it was worth it... If he didn´t live long enough, at least he was happy on his last days... And Hilda was the one who made us care about him!
